While HTC may not be the most lucrative Android OEM, it has been turning a profit over the last few quarters. The first quarter of 2015 is no different with HTC reporting a net profit of $ 11.6 million (T$ 360 million). While this number is not huge by any means, it should be noted that HTC was able to hold on to a profit even during the success of Apple’s two latest flagships and other Android competitors.
The total revenue for the first quarter was $ 1.32 billion (T$ 41.52 billion). We are anxious to see how HTC fares during the rest of 2015 with the release of its newest flagship, the One m9. Feelings towards the phone have been mixed, but hopefully it will result in higher profits for HTC. Success for more companies means more competition, and more competition is better for the consumer.
